Pro Design Tip: Coordinate your exterior panel designs early and often with your mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers.
Specifically, you want to make sure you know where they’ll have pipes, lights, louvers, and outlets on the outside of your building. And you want them to know where positioning and location of those penetrations is crucial to your design.
That way your construction documents can provide notes and dimensions for careful location of these items in the field.
Check out our fifteen-page penetration and signage bulletin here to learn how contractors cut porcelain cladding panels in the field. You’ll also find more tips and things to consider as you incorporate these penetrations into your design.
Until next time, keep growing your garden with beautiful building facades…
